On 9 April 2026, the EACR hosted a free webinar bringing together leading experts to explore the Cancer Genome Interpreter (CGI) platform and its growing role in precision oncology. The session featured Dr. Nuria López-Bigas (CGI-Clinics Project Coordinator, IRB Barcelona, Spain), Dr. Santiago Demajo (CGI-Clinics Scientific Coordinator, IRB Barcelona, Spain), and Dr. Loic Verlingue (Oncologist and Cancer Researcher, Centre Léon Bérard, Lyon, France), who together covered the full landscape of CGI, from the science underpinning its automatic learning platform and data-driven mutation interpretation, to the capabilities of the newly enhanced tool, including Clinical Reporting and virtual Molecular Tumour Boards (vMTB), to a real-world use case of CGI implementation in clinical practice at the Centre Léon Bérard.

The webinar also provided an opportunity to learn how to join the CGI-Clinics community, as well as details on the current CGI-500Genomes call. CGI is actively seeking 20 EU hospitals to join the network in order to sequence 500 tumour genomes and build a shared database to advance cancer research.

We are able to provide free on-demand access to the full webinar recording, which can be found above.
