The European Commission has announced that they are to launch a Knowledge Centre on Cancer at the end of this month. The Knowledge Centre will join the other eight Knowledge Centres on the Knowledge4Policy (K4P) platform on topics such as Biodiversity, Disaster Risk Management, and Migration and Demography.
The European Commission’s K4P platform was developed to ‘bring all knowledge in one single database, so you need no longer search multiple sites to find the knowledge you need’ and to ultimately bridge the worlds of scientists and policymakers ‘to support evidence-based policymaking’.
The Knowledge Centre on Cancer has been created with the view to align and coordinate the European Commission’s current activities on cancer to support their two flagship cancer initiatives, the Europe’s Beating Cancer plan and the new Horizon Europe Mission on Cancer.
A virtual event will be hosted on 30 June 2021 to introduce the Knowledge Centre on Cancer to the rest of Europe, and will consist of statements from the Commissioners, high level presentations on the featured EC activities in the Cancer area, as well as open discussions.
This virtual event is hosted on WebEx. To register and learn more about the Knowledge Centre on Cancer, click here.
