The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has released its annual Cancer Progress Report for 2017.
The Report is released in September of each year and highlights advances over the past 12 months in the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. It also includes the personal experiences of cancer survivors who have benefited from these advances.
Though primarily US-focused, the report provides a comprehensive and reader-friendly summary of the current state of cancer research and treatment. It covers subjects as diverse as basic research, risk factors, prevention, new anticancer therapeutics, future breakthroughs using ‘big data’, and public policy.
