The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has just released its eighth annual AACR Cancer Progress Report 2018. Though mainly US-focused it’s a good resource if you want to read a summary of advances over the past 12 months in the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
It’s always important to be reminded of the reasons why we do research, so it’s great to see the report also includes personal experiences and stories of hope from cancer survivors who have benefited from recent advances in research. Unless you work directly with patients or have a personal experience of cancer, this is a side that many researchers never get to see.
